Blurb :
Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot?
By Ashe Barker
She’s recovered, moved on. Her marriage is
over. Or is it?
Cain has other ideas. Heather might
have left him, fled to the wilds of bloody Scotland of all places to get away
from him, but she never even signed the divorce papers he sent her. He’s wasted
enough time and now he’s determined to settle things, one way or another. A
decent spanking always used to work, but is it too late?
New year, new start. There’s only one
way to find out…
Excerpt (18+)
"Heather,
you've had the divorce papers since July. Electronic copies, hard copies,
courier delivered copies. You've ignored the lot. I emailed, my solicitor
emailed. We've tried reaching you on the phone and got nowhere. So here I am,
and I'm not leaving until this is settled."
"I'm
sorry, I hadn't realised you were so keen to be rid of me." She couldn't
conceal the bitterness in her voice, nor the tears which threatened to betray
her anguish at having to face him again. He should have warned her he was
coming. She might have been more prepared...
"I
am rid of you. You've buried yourself
out here, at the back of fucking beyond for the last two and a half years, with
not so much as a text from you in all that time. I could hardly be more rid of
you. But I don't like loose ends, and you're most definitely one of
those."
She
stepped back from him and started to turn away. "It's the holidays. I have
plans..."
He
followed, circling her so she had to continue to face him. "No, you don't…
or at least, not plans that can't wait."
"What
do you know? You know nothing about me, about my life. I..."
"Heather,
I'm here to sort things out, that's all." He paused to glance around her
workroom. "I'm guessing this is where it all happens? Your art?"
She
nodded. "And as you can see, I have work to finish, so..." She marched
past him, heading for the door. Beyond were the stairs leading up to the
compact apartment above her workshop. She had no idea why she thought
abandoning him in her studio would aid her case, but tears blinded her to all
but the prospect of escape.
"Heather,
stop."
That
tone, that fucking stern and authoritative tone which would in the past have
sent her dropping to her knees. Heather paused for just a moment, enough to
gather her wits, then bolted for the door.
He
was faster. As she grabbed the handle and pulled the door open he slammed it
shut and bracketed her against it, his hands on either side of her shoulders.
"Let
me go," Heather sobbed.
"No.
I made that mistake once before, and look where it got me. This time, we handle
our differences my way."
She
rested her forehead on the smooth wood of the door. "What? You mean to
fuck me? Or spank me?"
"Oh
yes, I intend to do both."
